Volunteers in Norwalk Public Schools VINS

NPS Mentor Program

Volunteering in Norwalk Public Schools is both challenging and rewarding.

V.I.N.S. is an informal network of all volunteers serving in the Norwalk school system. Resources and training are always available through V.I.N.S. for citizens desiring to partner with the students, educators and families of the Norwalk Public Schools. V.I.N.S., as a network, is associated with local, state and national agencies.  Therefore V.I.N.S. is increasingly aware of concerns and issues present in our nation’s schools.

Although volunteers had been present and functioning in many Norwalk schools since the end of World War II; working in libraries, cafeterias, clerical offices and with individual children, V.I.N.S. began as a small pilot project in 1966.

Through V.I.N.S., citizens of Norwalk and many surrounding towns have offered their gifts to the children of our community for over thirty-five years.
