Board of Education Meeting Minutes

August 1, 2007

ATTENDANCE: Jody Bishop-Pullen, Chair; Rosa Murry, Vice Chair; Greg Burnett; Migdalia Rivas; Susan Hamilton; Bruce Kimmel; Tom Vetter; Robert Polley; Shirley Mosby; Mayor Moccia

STAFF: Sal Corda, Superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools

CALL TO ORDER

Ms. Bishop-Pullen called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Board and the public rose and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

OATH OF OFFICE

Mayor Moccia administered the Oath of Office to Ms. Mosby. He congratulated her and Ms. Bishop-Pullen welcomed her as a member of the Board of Education.

ACTIONS

A. APPROVE THE UTILIZATION OF $962,000 OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE 2007/2008 OPERATING BUDGET

** MS. HAMILTON MOVED TO APPROVE THE ITEM ** MS. RIVAS SECONDED ** MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY PUBLIC COMMENTS

Speakers were Ms. Diane Winston and Ms. Cathy Williams.

CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS – CONTRACT OFFICE ADMINISTRATORS

** MR. POLLEY MOVED TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 8:30 P.M. TO DISCUSS CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS ** MS. RIVAS SECONDED ** MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

Ms. Rivas left the meeting at 9:00 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT

** MR. POLLEY MOVED TO ADJOURN ** MR. VETTER SECONDED ** MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

The meeting was adjourned at 9:47 p.m.
