Board of Education Policy Committee Meeting Minutes

October 21, 2008

I. Call to Order: 6:47

II. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of September 9, 2008: Approved with spelling correction with one abstention (Hamilton).

III. Discussion of Policies and Bylaws:

A. Discussion of Bullying Policy #5131.9 : The committee reviewed feedback from the Principal’s meetings. The committee discussed the incorporation of the feedback and made sure that all legal requirements were maintained. Bruce Mellion provided feedback.

B. Suspension and Expulsion Policy #5114: There have been changes in the law so the whole policy will have to be reviewed.

C. Bylaws #9321, 9325.2, 9326: Changes in the law have required changes in the Bylaws governing posting of meetings and minutes on the District website.

IV. Schedule for future Policy Review: The Chair will send out possible dates for future meetings.
