Board of Education Policy Committee Meeting Minutes

Attendees: J. Bishop-Pullan, G. Burnett, M. Rivas, T. Dadonna

I. Call to Order: 7:00

II. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of July 30, 2008: Approved as printed with one abstention (Rivas).

III. Discussion of Bullying Policy #5131.9 : The committee reviewed the wording section by section and incorporated changes according to the law, CABE samples, and Board counsel. The committee agreed to follow most of the recommendations from CABE as updated language, easy to read, with some additions from the Sullivan/ Schoen version. T. Dadonna will review the proposed draft policy and sample regulations with the principals at their upcoming meetings for input on the regulations.

IV. Schedule for future Policy Review: Dates were reviewed and October 21st prior to the BOE meeting will work best to continue review of the Bullying Policy. Further dates will be set at that time.
